Watch below for a sample of Steven’s techniques:

SUMMARY

Steven Goldstein presents on how to address neuro-fascial restrictions for the brachial plexus and median nerve. Included will be a brief physiology of neurodynamics and mechanical interface of nerves defining their movement in relation to the musculoskeletal system.

Basic anatomy of the ulnar and radial nerve pathways and important components of those pathways will also be reviewed.

During the theoretical component, Steven will also cover major dysfunctions that effect those specific pathways and ways to apply various techniques to resolve tension and dysfunction that effect those neural pathways.

Learning Objectives

  •     Understand the anatomy of the brachial plexus and median nerve
  •     Knowledge of the clinical biomechanics of nerves in general
  •     Principles of neuromobilisation
  •     Treatment application to the brachial plexus and median nerve pathways

Learning Outcomes

  •     Will observe through demonstration application to the nerve pathways
  •     Will observe special tests associated with radial and ulnar nerve dysfunction.

SUMMARY

This topic will focus on restricted hip internal rotation & restricted hip extension leading to piriformis impingement of the sciatic nerve resulting in neural tension, neural adhesions, altered sensation & pain of the hip and lower limb.

In addition, there will be a focus on the assessment of the hip & then the prescription of specific corrective stretches & corrective exercises to increase hip internal rotation & extension to aid in the elimination of hip pain, lower limb pain & altered sensation.

SUMMARY

The Deep Neck Flexors (DNF) are known as the Longus Colli & Longus Capitas. These muscles are very important as they play a significant role in cervical stabilisation & maintaining ideal cervical spinal posture. Ideal cervical spinal posture is important for the muscle length tension relationship, correct force transfer & absorption of forces through the cervical spine, de-loading compression rates to the facet joints, de-loading compression rates to the intervertebral disc, help maintain a healthy opening at the intervertebral foramen.

DNF can lead to headaches originating from the upper cervical facet joints due to increased compression rates over time, facet joint inflammation/irritation, wry neck, restricted range of motion & hyper cervical lordosis.

Rob will introduce the audience with live technical demonstrations showing corrective exercises that will focus on this postural syndrome known as Cranial Cervical Flexion (CCF). A bio-feedback pressure stabilizer unit will be used to aid in the re-training of the DNF. Q and A will conclude the session.
